Sydney dust storms blow into town.
I was amazed to see the television media coverage of the Sydney dust storms.
Apparently nearly two hundred thousand tons, yes 200,000, of red dust had beed swept up by high winds and blown from the New South Wales vicinity.
Apart from the immediate effect of making getting around Sydney a hazardous venture it also could have dire effects on the population and was particularly bad for those with breathing problems and the very young or elderly.
Yet again we are reminded how vunerable we all can be to the mega effects of the natural world and its powerful weather forces.

Should we let the Giant Panda die.
Theres been a lot of talk today about whether we should let the giant panda die due to the large amount of money that it takes each year to preserve its species.
Personally I feel that as it was the fault of mankind encrouching on the giant pandas natural habitat that has been one of the main reasons that it is now endangered places a heavy burden on us, mankind, to do our very best to try and put the matter right and save it.
Of course there are many other animals and creatures that are endangered, but rather than performing some sort of lottery to see which lives and which is allowed to die, surely it is up to mankind to look for even more funds to try and help more species survive.
What are your thoughts.
